Jason Freeny Artist Spotlight + SGCC Preview

This week we celebrate one of our oldest friends, the incredible artist Jason Freeny! Best known for his dissected style, he has also explored other interesting concepts such as Gummifetus and Mr Sudsy. 

We’ve collaborated with Jason Freeny for a number of different series, each pushing the boundaries of his style and concepts. Here are some of their origin stories.

Mr. Sudsy and Mr. Twisty

The original concept was simple—we wanted a fun collectible that sparks nostalgia. A kiddie ride was selected and the mainstay, a balloon dog. Stemming from this idea, we developed the second silhouette, featuring Jason Freeny’s original Bathing Ducky design. As a rubber ducky, this figure captures a different, sudsy side of childhood fun!

Funny Anatomy

This series brings us back to our roots—to what an art toy is. Usually, we tend to focus on the art side of things but this series balances the playable aspect as well! Each collectible is completely dissectible—take it apart and reassemble it however you want. Yet, it keeps the original anatomical spirit of the dissected style at its core, creating a unique twist to the concept.

Freeny’s Hidden Dissectibles

We wanted to bring Freeny’s dissected style to our blind box fans, resulting in the creation of this series. From One Piece to Garfield, a wide range of characters from beloved global IPs have been dissected. Each character has been faithfully recreated and reimagined at the same time–what would their insides look like? 

Meet Jason Freeny In-Person!

We’re excited to share that Jason Freeny will down at our booth during Singapore Comic Con (SGCC), happening 9 - 10 December 2023. He’ll be holding special fan signing sessions so be sure to bring your collectibles down and get them autographed!
